STEFANIE NAGORKA
STEFANIE NAGORKA
Stefanie Nagorka was born in Munich Germany to American parents, and grew up in Germany, Turkey, Rumania and the United States. Formally trained as an artist with both an undergraduate and graduate degree from Pratt Institute, Stephanie has been described by New York Arts Magazine as a “master of subtle nuance whose minimalist sculptures concentrate on the elemental purities of form and medium.” Nagorka cemented her reputation as a guerilla artist when she transformed Home Depot stores in almost ever state in America into a her own personal studio by constructing sculptures from concrete pavers right in the middle of the aisles. Working without permission, photography has been her only record since employees dismantled the work soon after completed. Ordained as a minister from the National Spiritual Science Center, Stephanie’s deep spirituality is often reflected in her work.
