The Affordable Art Showcase at Tucker Contemporary Art

Tucker Contemporary Art presents the TCA Affordable Art Showcase! This unique opportunity features a private collection of 35 contemporary artworks by 20 established and emerging artists. Whether you are looking for works on canvas, photography or limited edition prints, you will be intrigued by what’s on display. The price points range from $250 to $1000, perfect for first-time art buyers and seasoned collectors.
Fifty percent of the sales proceeds from this exhibition will be donated to GlassRoots.org, a 23-year-old community-focused Newark, NJ nonprofit glass art center. Glassroots sparks change and enables growth in youth, adults and professional artists through the transformative power of glass art.

The exhibition will be on view across several galleries of the Newark Museum of Art from September 27 through October 29 and feature a remarkable roster of 90+ visual artists from Newark and beyond.
Unique to this year’s festival will be a spotlight on the contributions of Newark-area Hip Hop pioneers, in Celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. This initiative is organized by Newark Arts and The Newark Museum of Art to support the rich artistic and creative expression in Newark and across New Jersey.
Be sure to arrive on time for a dazzling unveiling beginning at 6 pm on the Museum’s front steps. The Museum will officially unveil a recently acquired pair of marble sculptures by renowned artist Sanford Biggers, which will grace the NMOA entrance.

This Calabar Gallery Talk Series, organized by Atim Annette Oton, features a panel of Black Art Collectors in the New Jersey and New York area. The panelists, Halima Taha, author of Collecting African American Art: Works on Paper and Canvas, Tucker Contemporary Art’s Roger C. Tucker III and Essex County College professor, Derek Ware, will have a discussion, moderated by Atim Annette Oton, about each of their collections, supported by a visual presentation of some of the pieces in their collections.
