Please join us for a special opening reception kicking off the Newark Arts Festival 2023 signature exhibition Cross Cultural Perspectives
The exhibition will be on view across several galleries of the Newark Museum of Art from September 27 through October 29 and feature a remarkable roster of 90+ visual artists from Newark, and beyond. The work pictured here, by Dominant Dansby, has been selected for inclusion in the exhibition.
Unique to this year’s festival will be a spotlight on the contributions of Newark-area Hip Hop pioneers, in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop. This initiative is organized by Newark Arts and The Newark Museum of Art to support the rich artistic and creative expression in Newark and across New Jersey.
Be sure to arrive on time for a dazzling unveiling beginning at 6 pm on the Museum’s front steps. The Museum will officially unveil a recently acquired pair of marble sculptures by renowned artist Sanford Biggers, which will grace the NMOA entrance.
