Check out this engaging conversation with photographer Dwight Carter and journalist Sheryl Hilliard Tucker about his extraordinary year as an enlisted combat photographer in the Vietnam War.

Private First Class Carter’s assignment was clear: Visually document what is now considered the most controversial and divisive war in American History. An academically trained photographer who worked in the studios of the legendary Richard Avedon before going to war.

Dwight’s work is moving, personal and powerful. He captured life at Long Binh military base, in battlefields, with Vietnamese children and at the command center of General Creighton Abrams.

This exhibition, featuring never-before-seen photographs, commemorates the 50th Anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War. The exhibition is curated by Roger C. Tucker III.
